Doug received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics from the University of Toronto in 1944 and qualified as a Professional Engineer in Ontario in 1946. He received advanced education and training in radar from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1943. During the Second World War, he served on active duty with the Royal Canadian Navy in the Radar Branch achieving the rank of Lieutenant. Doug studied law at Osgoode Hall and read law with Dr. Harold G. Fox, Q.C., then Canada's leading intellectual property lawyer. Doug was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1954 and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1967. Doug was registered as a patent attorney in Canada in 1948 and a patent agent in the United States in 1949. Doug's experience has been extensive and varied in all aspects of intellectual property. He has been counsel in many landmark cases including, for example, McPhar v. Sharpe, Hoffman-La Roche v. Frank W. Horner, Varta v. Globe Union, Horn Abbot v. Coulter Sales, RCA v. Hazeltine and Sperry v. John Deere. An area of particular interest to Doug is the law under the Patent Act and other legislation relating to pharmaceuticals. At present, Doug is a member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada, the International Association for the Protection of Industrial Property and the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario.

Warren graduated from the University of Waterloo in mechanical engineering in 1976. In 1977, he became a professional engineer. In 1982, he obtained a Masters in Business Administration from York University. Warren joined the firms in 1978. He became a registered trade-mark agent in Canada in 1979 and a registered patent agent in 1980. He was also registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office in 1981. His practice is divided between associate and direct client patent filings and prosecution both in Canada and internationally primarily with respect to mechanical, electrical, and systems applications. Warren also has extensive experience in trade-mark, copyright and design matters. Warren is a member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada, FICPI Canada and the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario.
Frank

Frank graduated in 1976 from McGill University's Honours Mechanical Engineering program with a background in the mechanical, electrical, electronic and computer programming fields. He completed his law degree at Osgoode Hall Law School in 1980. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1982. Frank has practiced exclusively in intellectual property since 1983. Frank has been a registered patent agent in Canada since 1985; and a registered trade mark agent in Canada since 1983. He was also registered to practice as a patent agent before the United States Patent and Trademark Office in 1992 and is recognized to practice in trade-mark matters before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. His experience covers the full range of intellectual property services - from litigation to licensing to agency work in the mechanical, electronic, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and other arts. Frank is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and is a member and Past-Chair of the Biotechnology Committee of its Industrial & Intellectual Property Section. He is also a member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada.
John

John graduated from the University of Toronto in 1976 with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry. In 1979, he obtained a Master of Science degree in Immunology and Biochemistry from the University of Toronto. John did post-graduate research in Immunology at the University of Manitoba towards a doctorate. John has several years experience with major pharmaceutical companies in the health care field in various capacities. John has been a registered patent agent since 1989 and a registered trade-mark agent also since 1989. Currently, John is concentrating his patent practice in matters relating to the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology arts. John is a member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada and has been active on the Patent Legislation and Joint Liaison-Patent Committees.

Tony graduated from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in 1982 with a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree in Radio & Television Arts. He obtained his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1987 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1989. Tony is registered as a trade-mark agent and has practiced exclusively in intellectual property since 1989. Tony is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada.
